Shahan’s Community Work

Shahan has been a long-standing member of the Board of Directors of DARTS Transit where his fresh perspective was a much-needed change from the old guard and served as Vice-Chair for a year. He also sits on the Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities where he is the Chair of the Transportation Working Group. His dedicated contribution to the public transit and accessible transit system will always be regarded highly. Shahan contributed his expertise in policy, governance, risk management and public relations.

Shahan’s Education

Shahan completed his Certificate in Small Business and Entrepreneurship in 2012 from Mohawk College. After a brief hiatus, he continued his education at Mohawk College in 2015 by starting the General Business Diploma which was completed in 2017. He continued on to the Business Administration Advanced Diploma, completed in 2018. He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration with honours at Laurentian University in 2021. He is currently enrolled in the Master in Business Administration at Laurentian University.

Shahan’s Home & Family

Shahan and his partner Lindsay are true Hamiltonians at heart having spent their lives in Hamilton. Shahan was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh and is the oldest of 3. He and his family moved to Hamilton in 2006 and has called it their home ever since. He has lived on Queen Street North since his arrival in Hamilton.
